Summary

I am an Academic, Institutional Planning and Quality Assurance Manager. I have accumulated 9 years of experience in and knowledge of higher education as a field, including 4 years of Higher Education teaching, eight years of management of staff, and a total of 11 years of management and oversight of systems related to my work. My approach to my work is process oriented and facilitates integration and transformation of higher education administration and planning functions. My work is also underpinned by my educationalist lens, and my understanding of the role of Post School Education and Training (PSET) in South Africa in shifting our national landscape. My experience centres on teaching and learning, quality assurance processes and mechanisms, higher education administration, institutional research, and information management. I have a robust grounding in national regulations, higher education and quality assurance policy and in particular, the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and Higher Education Act. I have established a profile in the Institution and in the national higher education space with key role players including directorates in the Department of Higher Education and Training, Council on Higher Education and South African Qualifications Authority. This is evidenced by the reality that I have grown to become a primary contact for many academics, administrators, the executives; and colleagues in national bodies, when they require information, advice on process, and interpretation of policy. I have been on the Accreditation and Registration Committee (AC) since May 2017 and have served on several national task teams related to the work of the AC.
