• 12 months allocation in the obstetrics and gynaecology department, that means exposure to Antenatal clinic, Labour ward, Postnatal ward. Gained confidence in identifying major life threatening conditions in these wards and how to manage them appropriately.
• Also exposed to high risk clinic, gynaecology/oncology clinic where ultrasound skills are mostly done hence improving the skill.
• Gynaecology ward for the first 3 months, therefore able to identify gynaecology emergencies and perform procedures.
• Maintained up-to-date medical knowledge through continuous professional development activities and training sessions such as Esmoe teachings, departmental meetings and continued diploma and primary teachings by Dr Mpehle and Dr Manana (part of preparations for diploma and primaries exams).
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Maintained confidentiality and privacy during exams to comply with legal requirements and protect patient dignity.

Duration of medical internship: 2 years

• Gained experience in rotations within Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia, Family Medicine, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry and Paediatrics.
• Out patient department and Emergency unit rotation equipped me with skills of managing trauma patients and ability to perform minor surgical procedures, and the ability to know when to and what to do to expedite patient treatment.
• Responded to medical emergencies to help stabilize and treat patients.
• Completed daily rounds to check on patients and identify any reasons for concern.
• Wrote detailed and professional progress notes for each patient, outlining notable events and examinations findings.
• Participated in grand rounds, presenting complex cases to colleagues and engaging in constructive discussions for optimal patient outcomes.
