In-Patient services (both general and forensic patients)

• General care including acute, subacute and chronic care to adult patients with mental illness, intellectual disability and substance use disorders among others
• Conduction of forensic observation, care treatment and rehabilitation of state patients

Managing mentally ill patients with medical comorbidities such as HIV, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, stroke, epilepsy, among others.

Emergency admissions, assessment and management of emergency care of patients in the wards and observation units

Occupational Health Clinic

• Conducting pre-employment medical examinations
• Providing medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses
• Conducting health screening and monitoring.

Family Medicine

• Substantial inpatient hospital medicine training and experience providing care to patient population consisting of medically, socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, many experiencing food insecurity and other social issues.
• Extensive exposure to wide variety of pathologies in both emergent and routine hospital settings, including common diseases and severe sequelae of end stage chronic diseases such as diabetes, COPD, cardiomyopathy, HIV/AIDS , TB and other common infectious diseases.
• Maintained an active outpatient continuity clinic serving ranges of patients of all ages, newborns to geriatrics, with variety of acute and complex chronic diseases.
• Proficient in wide complement of office procedures i.e contraceptive devices, laceration repairs, endometrial biopsies, I&D and cyst removals, circumcisions, among others
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient paediatrics and obstetrics care.

Emergency Medicine

• Diagnosed and treated patients with chronic and acute health problems, including myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, asthma, COPD, pneumonia, DKA, Hypertensive Emergencies, Trauma, Shock.
• Handled large patient numbers, long working hours and various shifts from early morning to late evening and overnight.
• Advised and educated patients regarding hygiene, diet and effective disease prevention methods.
• Collaborated with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Ordered laboratory testing, physical assessments and specialist consults to help diagnose and treat patients.
• Patiently explained prescribed procedures and discussed test results with patients and family members.
• Ordered and executed diagnostic tests and analyse diagnostic images to investigate patient conditions.
