Intern Medical Doctor – Maternity & Gynecology Unit

Role Summary:
As a medical intern in the maternity and gynecology unit, you work under the supervision of senior doctors to gain practical experience in women’s health. The role involves supporting antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, managing gynecological conditions, and assisting in obstetric procedures, including caesarean sections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management of high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies under supervision.
• Support antenatal clinics by performing patient assessments, documenting findings, and arranging investigations.
• Participate in labor ward activities, including monitoring labor progression, conducting normal deliveries under supervision, and assisting with caesarean sections.
• Provide postnatal care for mothers and newborns, ensuring early detection of complications.
• Contribute to the management of gynecological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Document patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
• Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Uphold hospital protocols, infection control standards, and ethical medical practice.
• Participate in academic teaching, case discussions, and research activities as required.
