Supporting the end-to-end casting process, from initial design to final quality assurance.

Design and Development Support:

• Assist in the design of casting components using CAD software, ensuring they meet all engineering specifications and requirements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and optimize casting designs for manufacturability and performance.

Pattern and Mold Preparation:

• Support the creation and preparation of patterns and molds for the investment casting process.
• Ensure that patterns account for shrinkage and machining allowances.

Process Optimization:

• Analyze existing casting processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
• Implement changes to optimize parameters such as mold temperature casting temperatures.

Quality Assurance:

• Perform quality control inspections on castings, including dimensional checks and visual inspections
• Document and report any defects or non-conformances and work with seniors to address them.

Technical Documentation:

• Maintain detailed records of all casting processes, materials, tests, and results.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior engineers and management.

Project Management:

• Support project planning and management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking.
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Supporting senior engineers with investment casting process to ensure that cast components meet high standards..

• Wax injection and wax assembly
• Assisting with mould preparation and casting procedures
• Sorted and organized files, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Gathering and analyzing data from various stages of the casting process to identify areas for improvement.

Creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) for the casting of a light aircraft engine in a manufacturing environment, which involved listing all the materials, components, and assemblies required for the job.

• Drawing reading and confirming.
• Ordering of material (3D sand moulds and metal)
• Assembly of sand moulds awaiting casting.
• Sorted and organized files, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Prepared project presentations and reports to assist senior staff.
