The larger part of my corporate journey has fashioned a proficient Information Technology Administrator with over 8 years’ experience, specialising in administrative work, problem solving, client service and optimal assistance in the Service Support and Information Security environments.


Currently, I hold the position of Information Security Awareness Specialist at Sanlam Group Technology. I have served as the communications outlet for the Information Security department over the last 2 and a half years, responsible for the development and delivery of training and awareness campaigns on company related security policies and standards, industry leading practices, and current events. I enjoy pursuing the ability to communicate complex information security topics to a non-technical audience.


I pride myself in thinking creatively, increasing productivity, enhancing processes, relieving workload of managerial staff and excellent client service. I am an efficient, dedicated worker with an ability to adapt to new environments, quickly learn and navigate any computer software programme or office process and/ or procedures.


I am excited by the prospect of using my skills and knowledge acquired in my current role to continue to promote and enable end-users to make smarter online security decisions.

Information Security Awareness Specialist

  • Fulfill the role of campaign facilitator and own the successful execution of each campaign for the Sanlam Group Companies (±32 000 employees).
  • Involve key stakeholders (IT, Information Security, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Brand & Communication, Facilities etc.).
  • Provide input to and deliver against campaign strategy/plans.
  • Fulfill daily project management activities, including responding to queries, liaising with ISOs and other stakeholders as well as preparing for and participating in regular meetings.
  • Report status updates regarding live campaigns.
  • Develop, maintain and execute reporting in line with requirements and standards such as pre ISO Forum, post campaign launch, intra-campaign and upon close-out of campaign.
  • Maintain relevant Information Security Awareness process documentation and guidelines.
  • Manage Communications Plan.
  • Identify additional communication vehicles to support efficacy of campaign.
  • Manage campaign activities and tasks via Jira.
  • Create, upload and maintain relevant content for Cybersmart intranet site.
  • Identify best practices for communication vehicles (depending on vehicles in place and communications department limitations).
  • Develop and maintain communication elements for planned initiatives such as mailers, intranet banners, posters, etc.
  • Ensure quality control on all materials. Materials may include training videos, posters, mailers, Intranet banners, articles, pop up images, etc.
  • Liaise with Brand and Marketing departments across multiple group companies for copy and brand approval.
  • Assist with rebranding requirements for applicable business units.
  • Facilitate French translation requirements for applicable business units.
  • Manage and Administer KnowBe4 Cloud Platform.
  • Arrange KnowBe4 console walkthrough and training where required.
  • Project management of technical installation components when setting up the learning management platform (KnowBe4) for new businesses in the Sanlam Group. This includes: ensuring necessary whitelisting on email and firewall gateways get done, obtaining authority for domains in scope, collecting, uploading and maintaining user lists, configuring phishing simulation campaigns and training, following process flows for internal approvals, tests and roll out.
  • Run phishing simulations frequently across multiple divisions and aligned to the Sanlam governance process (obtain authority for templates).
  • Ensure Sanlam Group Technology's success expectations are met.
  • Identify areas for improvement & new services.
  • Make use of tools such as Photoshop and Articulate Storyline to create content.

Logical Access Administrator

  • Receiving and administering requests for assistance telephonically and via e-mail and provide End User/Service Provider SRS (Service Request System) & Request (CA Unicentre platform) training as and when required.

  • Co-ordinate functional and user testing for an SRS
    enhancement/amendment and ensure that UAT documents are signed off by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that users are educated on an SRS enhancement/amendment and that they understand the new functionality.
  • Ensure that Administrative, Process and Training Documents are always kept up to date and published on Share Point.
