As a dedicated and innovative postgraduate student at Stellenbosch University, I have built a solid foundation in classroom management and student engagement. My experience at Paarl Boys' High School has enabled me to excel in adapting lessons to the diverse needs of learners while enriching the classroom with modern teaching methods. My role as an au pair has further honed my teamwork and communication skills, successfully advocating for a positive learning environment for the children and building lasting relationships with the families. I am passionate about creating meaningful, learner-centred experiences that leave a lasting impression on everyone I teach.
Value student engagement
I have been playing sports since I was three years old. Engaging in sports keeps me physically active, improves my endurance, strength, and coordination, and provides an outlet for stress relief. I have played many sports growing up, including ballet, swimming, gymnastics, netball, and more. Being active is a part of who I am, and participating in sports makes me happy. I view reading as a way to stimulate the imagination and expand knowledge. I enjoy reading a variety of genres. I was taught how to cook by my mother, grandmother, and aunt. Cooking allows for creativity and experimentation with flavors, and I learned how to prepare my family’s traditional dishes. It is both a practical skill and a form of artistic expression. Cooking for others brings me joy, and when they enjoy my meals, it gives me great satisfaction because it shows that I am good at it. Lastly, I volunteer at my church as a youth leader for high school students and participate in outreach programs associated with my church. Volunteering is deeply rewarding, as it gives me a sense of purpose by helping others and contributing to a cause. It teaches me empathy, builds community ties, and offers opportunities to learn new skills while making a positive impact on society.
