The roles and responsibilities of the Financial Advisor as per the Constitution are as follows:
Extension (by myself): Moreover, the Financial Advisor acts as a trusted advisor and central hub for treasurers within societies, offering guidance on all financial matters. Additionally, all financial determinations made by the Societies Council require approval from the Financial Advisor. Furthermore, the Financial Advisor should consistently monitor the financial status of the Societies Council and offering feedback or insights to the rest of the Executive Committee.
The University of Stellenbosch Consulting Society (USCS) strives to promote student development and success in the field of consulting. Society members can look forward to forming connections with the top consulting firms, gaining access to career and skills development workshops, interactive case studies and consulting competitions.

The Leadership in Context (LIC) summit on 09 March 2024 hosted by the SU Centre for Student Life and Learning(CSLL).
The CSLL LIC, with the theme: “Cultivating the leader within US” , is to introduce participants to the concept as well as formation of culture, specifically relating to institutional culture, and its role in the operation and achievement of the goals of institutions of higher learning, specifically relating to inclusivity and diversity. LIC further aims to unpack institutional culture as it relates to the understanding and practice of student leadership, and to explore the role of student leaders in the formation of institutional leadership practices, and finally, the potential impact or not, if institutional cultures do not keep apace with student and institutional needs.
The CSLEEC LSAL, with the theme: “Cultivating the leader within US” aims to capacitate students with the tools to engage deeper on the process of change, the reimagination and practice of leadership within their context, in order to create a definition and experience of leadership that is relevant, adaptable and grounded in student needs. The 2023 LSAL further purports to introduce participants to the concept as well as formation of culture, specifically relating to institutional culture, and its role in the operation and achievement of the goals of Institutions of Higher Learning, specifically relating to inclusivity and diversity. The Social Change Model for Student Leadership will serve as the theoretical framework, and as tool for the participants throughout this process.
The role of the mentor was to guide participates into successfully completing tasks
The role of the Communications Officer is to ensure that students are continuously and fully informed of the activities of the SRC in accordance with section 21(6). They Obtain feedback from students in accordance with section 21(6), they Ensure that the advice of Student Parliament reaches the SRC and they Facilitate, improve, and coordinate communication between the SRC and the Student Body, Student leadership structures, Student Parliament, Student Media and External (non-institutional) stakeholders. They also Develop SRC Communication policies.
My duties as a Demi included invigilating Economics examination papers and counting examination marks.
The House Committee (HC) is the highest leadership body within a residence at Stellenbosch University. Elected by the residents, HC members serve a 12-month term under the leadership of the Primaria (head of the House Committee), Vice-Primaria, and the Resident Head.
The House Committee plays a vital role in representing the residence, acting as a bridge between the residents, the rest of the campus, and the broader University. They are responsible for enforcing university rules within the residence while also ensuring that the environment is inclusive, welcoming, and conducive to personal growth. Through their leadership, they amplify the voices within the community, making sure everyone is heard.
Dedicated to forward-thinking and passionate about their residence, the House Committee members strive to create a vibrant and supportive living space for all.
Welcoming monitors are tasked with the responsibility of observing welcoming cultures within residences and reporting back on those observations.
My responsibilities as the deputy head monitor included: discipline, following up on submissions from the monitors and compiling the official welcoming report which is shared with the student body.
The EBSK, in collaboration with faculty staff, facilitates the discussion and addressing of academic matters that fall in the sphere of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.
Mentors are senior students who are appointed in residences and CSC's on campus to assist new students with their adjustment to university life. Each new student is allocated a mentor. The mentor plays an important role during the welcoming period with general assistance regarding university life queries and psychosocial support.
Through the mentor, new students have the opportunity to partake in the Wellness programme of the University, which aims to enhance the wellness of students throughout the year.
