MYolanda (Olwethu) Ncokotwana is broadcaster, story consultant and entrepreneur, executive producer, the funding specialist and policy maker. Currently the Head of Industry Development at the NFVF, looking after training and skills development, production and development, coproductions and finding. My experience spans across live productions, documentaries, and scripted content, began my television career in broadcasting where she worked her way up from the production to becoming a Commissioning Editor.
As a story consultant, she has worked on over 30 titles including multiple award-winning films and overseeing funding of documentary projects like Buddha in Africa, The Sound of Mask, Skulls of My People, How to Steal a Country, Influence, Music is my life: Joseph Tshabalala and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. She initiated and developed the Thuthuka fund, a co-development incentive between the Netherland and South African as well and the co-development incentive between SPCINE and the National Film and Video Foundation. She is responsible for co-developing NFVF/Netflix co-production, which produced six features' films including Real Estate Sisters, Runs in the family, Smart Casuals, Soweto place , Inkabi and Prime.
