I bring an adaptive working style that allows me to focus deeply on complex legal matters, with strong analytical skills that support persuasive, solution-driven arguments. I’m confident working in teams, with a good sense for coordination and task delegation. Public speaking and debating come naturally to me, and I’ve consistently performed well in settings that require clear, confident communication.
I had the privilege of participating in the First-Year League Moot Tournament, a formative experience that not only introduced me to the fundamentals of mooting but also helped me develop the ability to draft persuasive legal arguments. Most importantly, it taught me the value of precise legal language, and how it shapes the way we engage with the law.
I am a House Committee Member for House Khutso, one of the top residences under TuksRes at the University of Pretoria. At 17 years old, I was appointed as the Head of Sports and Publications, a role that has allowed me to grow in leadership, creativity, and service.
As Head of Publications, I write for our digital newsletter, "Keeping Up with Khutso," where I share residence updates, student highlights, and thought-provoking pieces that reflect the spirit of our house. I also create our popular 'loo news' engaging bathroom bulletins that keep our residents informed and connected in a fun way.
On the sports side, my vision was to improve both participation and attitude toward recreational sports, and I’m proud to say it’s worked. Since I took over, House Khutso has won multiple awards, including at TuksRes Festival, Rag of Hope Day, UPlympics, and individual tournaments like basketball, football, and Braille chess. Seeing our house improve this much is a huge achievement for me, it reflects my strong work ethic, dedication, and passion for building house spirit through sport. This role has taught me how to lead with intention, communicate with purpose, and leave a lasting impact.
I had the privilege of interning at The Manes Ltd, a property management company, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in the real estate sector. During my internship, I was actively involved in assisting with the drafting of lease agreements, which enhanced my understanding of the legal and practical aspects of property leases. This opportunity broadened my knowledge of the property management field and helped me develop essential skills, such as working with people, managing deadlines, and multitasking efficiently.
I also served as the class representative for one of my first-year law modules, JUR 110. In this role, I acted as the link between the students and the lecturer, helping to raise concerns, communicate feedback, and make sure everyone stayed informed. Being the middleman taught me how to listen carefully, stay organized, and advocate for others in a respectful and constructive way.
