• Responsible for the leading and supervision/ control of a highly motivated shunting team, in the execution of the shunting duties to ensure the most effective utilisation of all resources and achievement of production targets within the yards and sidings.

• Execute the marshalling duties strictly according to marshalling directives and safe work procedures, resulting in an orderly and structured service, which ensure that trains run according to the pre-determined plan.

• Control and supervise shunting activities and other operational work processes during any abnormal situation, thus ensuring minimal delays and further inconveniences in the shunting activities and train plan.

• Responsible for the application of Safety standards, thus ensuring a safe working environment for the employees, Spoornet's assets and the community.

• Performs various administration duties of moderate complexity requiring general knowledge of train services/shunting and other operational issues.

• Supervise the staff reporting to the job holder to ensure that they perform in accordance with agreed upon performance and quality standards.

• Collaborate with Train & Shed personnel and Train Control for safe operations.

Theoretical training and practical training based on railways operations around the world and I am Certified and qualified and experienced in all safety relations.
