Improvement Act, 1976 (Act No 53. of 1976), Genetic Modified Organisms Act, 1997 (Act No. 15 of 1997) as well as the provision of International Plant Production Convection (IPPC) relevant to inspections to ensure regulated articles, Plants and plant products comply with the set of phytosanitary requirements. Conducting Import control and Export control according to import permit and bi lateral agreement between the trading partners like European, China, and Korea and Thailand of Citrus market. To conduct inspection of Citrus, Genetic Resource and Surveillance of Agricultural Plant products. To conduct phytosanitary inspection and collect sample of pest or disease, for the analysis to the lab. Sample is collected based on the import permit conditions or by lateral agreement.
