     To whom it may Concern;

  • I am a 60 year-old white male, unmarried with no dependents and sober habits.
  • Being raised by my Grandfather on his farm, 2 vivid memories come to mind. He always instruct me that a farmer's pride lies in his horse, directly referenced to; irrespective of what vehicle you drive, it is of pivotal importance to ensure that it is always impeccably clean and well maintained, and secondly, parting his moral guidance, that irrespective of your level of wealth, you always ensure that your shoes are faultlessly clean, as they reference to your character. Surely things have changed, but of significance in these two references, is the importance of what one does and how it directly impacts on one's character.
  • These sentiments have engrained themselves into my DNA since childhood, with the moral guidance of ensuring that everything you do, you do once only and perfect at that, as time spent on doing the same thing over could be better spent doing it right the first time around.
  • As such, I have always been conscious about my appearance, and self-critical in the delivery of all work that I am entrusted with, ensuring that nothing is complete unless it is perfect, whilst ensuring that all of my customer requirements have been addressed and adhered to during the process.
  • I prefer to listen twice and speak once, which is finely balanced between my inquisitive nature and absolute desire to understand my customer's vision, in order to execute a perfect delivery each time.
  • The nature of the construction, building maintenance and plumbing industries require a collaborative team effort in order to get the job done. In my efforts to better manage these responsibilities, I have familiarized myself with a rudimentary understanding of Zulu and “Fana-Galo”, which extends back to my childhood years whilst being raised in a farming community.
  • My grandfather's farm was situated in Platrand, Standerton District, and extended over 5 individual farming properties, where we farmed with Cattle, Sheep, Pig, as well as with mixed crops (Wheat, Maize, Sunflower, Oats, Boer wheat, Tef, etc.), inclusive of a small dairy with approximately 60 – 80 head of cattle.
  • This upbringing has impressed upon me a love for farming, the root of my hands-on participation in building and creating things of a civil nature, and has certainly left me with a reasonable knowledge of Farming.
  • ATTRIBUTES
  • I have a high level of technical aptitude, and find myself constantly inquisitive, with a desire to embrace continuous learning as a life-long philosophy. I am able to acquire new skills and knowledge rapidly, and am always a willing participant when being presented with an opportunity to learn new trends, technologies and advancements in the building industry. I'm often described as being more focused and quiet, whilst ensuring that my communication is always relevant. I prefer to observe and analyses situations from varying perspectives, before devising solutions which are all encompassing, whilst remaining equally innovative and creative in their offering.
  • Working together in a team requires collaborative partnerships with all colleagues and peers, where I believe all members should participate in discussing the work at hand in order to ensure that a mutual feeling of inclusivity is always maintained, ensuring that each member of the team feels valued.
  • As failure is the best platform for revival, I am not easily disheartened whilst always having a very resilient and positive approach. I am most certainly an optimist, and embrace all opportunities to mentor, motivate and inspire my team in order to ensure that we are able to deliver on time, all the time.
  • I believe that quality far outweighs the initial joy of low cost, and continuously engage with my customers to ensure that they are equipped with the insight to make long term decision responsibly. As such, I do not cut corners or patch up work, but prefer to leave world-class workmanship behind on which any reputation and legacy is built.
  • My love for people and providing tangible solutions to their vision, requires one to have a friendly and outgoing nature, which is able to instill a sense of confidence and trust, a key to building life-long business relationships.
  • Work is certainly not confined to time, but rather defined by completion. Time and project management are therefore key to ensuring that work is done on time and within any budgetary constraints. As planning, time and project management remains a core and key skill, I believe there is a significant difference between presence and productivity.
  • Merely arriving at work does not lead to productivity, rather, productivity should be a morally ingrained component of our integrity, always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching or cares. This coupled with hard work and a positive attitude, all go a long way towards a sense of belonging and worth, both being at the core of my being.
  • I am hopeful that my condensed CV attached as well as my brief life's synopsis have sufficiently described my core values, work-ethic and 35 years' worth of trade skills, which I am hoping may favorably align with your expectations and requirements for the vacancy that you currently have available.
  • Hoping for your soonest, favorable reply
  • Warmest Regards
