- Maintain trucks by sending for greasing on a weekly basis.
- Check trucks for any dents/damages and check with driver whether he is liable or not.
- Attend to any defects once truck goes for greasing to be repaired.
- Ensure drivers PDP are up to date.
- Test new drivers in the yard before they are recruited for call in Bloemfontein head office.
- Tracking trucks, working out estimated time of arrival, see where truck has lost time or if there is slow moving traffic.
- Check for deviation, see if truck used correct route to farm.
- Schedule services and update tracker on trucks kilometers once serviced.
- Log breakdowns when they occur – update client on breakdown and estimated time of mechanic to attend.
- Update on drivers out of shift report based on how many hours driver drove after 11h00pm until 04h00am.
- The update includes hours driver rested before and after going out on delivery.
- Plan trucks COF testing on days that are not as busy, if truck fails repair within three days to ensure no additional costs to booking a retest.
- Planning deliveries and drivers based on routes and turnaround times.
- Planning drivers and allocating to trucks.
- Update client every two hours on trucks activity, communicating delays and if any breakdowns occur.
- Planning drivers off week based on how many weeks they have worked.
- Ensuring drivers are briefed on routes, delivery codes and silo they are going to off load at.
- Ensuring any delays are eliminated when trucks are out on delivery i.e gates on farms closed communicating to the technical adviser to assist.
- If a truck gets stuck to assist with a tractor.
- Ensuring no time is wasted on farms once drivers are done off loading.
- Capture drivers sick leave, annual forms and send to head office.
