  • I spent the first year and a half in the instrument shop learning and carrying out bench work on instruments, gyros and autopilots
  • In this time I also learned and carried out annual checks on airframe including pitot-static checks, transponder and annual avionic checks
  • Following that I did work in the electrical shop where I learned how to service and test batteries, do electrical inspections as well as carry out fault finding and repairs on the airframe as well as on the bench
  • I had some experience with avionic installations, primarily Garmin avionics
  • I was one of 2 people to carry out the Cirrus Aircraft Parachute Systems 10 year replacement service bulletin, whereby I did a full harness removal and installation, as well as the functional test of the entire system including the rocket motor
  • I gained a lot of experience with Garmin avionics, Bendix King Gyros, radios and autopilots
  • As well as gaining experience on Cirrus SR20 and SR22; Beechcraft Bonanza, Baron and Kingair series; Embraer Phenom 100 and 300; Cessna 182, 206, 208 and 210.

  • My duties at EAS included carrying out annual inspections, fault finding and repair to any avionic, instrument or electrical system on many varieties of aircraft
  • I continued to do bench work which included testing, fault finding, service, repair and overhaul of many components.

  • Gaining experience on Gulfstream G1; Embraer 135; Bombardier Challenger 600-604; Dassault Falcon 20, 50, and 2000; and Learjet 35, 45, and 60, on top of the continually growing experience on the Kingair series airframes.
