Currently, I work as a Politics tutor and have prior experience assisting students with their academic and personal development through mentoring and tutoring.
I was awarded the Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung scholarship for my Master’s in Political Science in 2023, in recognition of my academic excellence. This scholarship provided me with the opportunity to undertake a research internship with the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Johannesburg. During this internship, my responsibilities included conducting significant research, drafting reports, and organizing department events. This experience enhanced my office management skills and attention to procedure.
I have a proven ability to manage administrative tasks, organize schedules, and ensure smooth office operations. Meticulous attention to detail is my hallmark, and I consistently ensure that procedures are followed accurately and deadlines are met consistently. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have actively participated in collaborative projects within and across diverse teams. My open-minded approach allows me to appreciate different perspectives and contribute effectively to a multicultural work environment.
My strong sense of duty motivates me to uphold rigorous standards and safeguard confidential information. Being a KAS Scholar, I had the opportunity to attend significant events that shaped both my social and political views. These include dinners hosted by influential figures, guided tours, and engaging round-table discussions on various topics. To name a few, I had the honor of attending several notable gatherings. These included a dinner hosted by Mr Sipho Dlamini, CEO of Universal Music South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, to welcome a delegation of Members of the German Parliament accompanied by representatives from the Head Office of KAS in Berlin. Additionally, I had the privilege of engaging with Michael Beaumont and André Coetzee of ActionSA during a dinner meeting, which coincided with the visit of the delegation of KAS scholars from Germany. This provided an opportunity to discuss the emergence of new political parties. Furthermore, there was a guided tour of Constitutional Hill, during which we engaged in a discussion on the South African Constitution and the role of the judiciary in South Africa. Another highlight was a session on South Africa’s Foreign Policy, with a special focus on China and Africa, facilitated by Elizabeth Sidiropoulos and Cobus van Staden at SAIIA. Finally, I participated in round table discussions on Climate and Environment and Foreign Policy, delving into topics concerning climate change and its impact on our environment. These gatherings offered valuable insights and opportunities for meaningful engagement.
My interest in democracy and political participation led me to volunteer as an election observer for the 2024 elections, allowing me to ensure that the elections were transparent, free, and fair. My commitment to politics, democracy, and social development drives me to further my studies, engage in conferences, and be part of programs that expose me to new opportunities.
