I am Zanele Melissa Simango. I am a hardworking, disciplined and committed person. My interests include pop culture, fitness, human rights and wholistic wellness . I am a well-rounded individual with a scientific mind, interpersonal skills, and a passion to make the communities we live in a better place.
Activate Wits is a student society that strives to create a social and safe space for LGBTIAQ+ students. We raise and address their concerns, needs, and interests. As Vice-chairperson I was tasked with ensuring that all Activate initiatives and events for the year run smoothly and effectively. I personally planned several events.
Enactus Wits is an NPO that helps disadvantaged communities better themselves using entrepreneurial methods. I was tasked with managing several projects the Wits team had in various communities and reporting on them to Enactus ZA. In my time as Director of projects, my Enactus team made it to the semi-finals of the national Enactus competition.
I worked as a SRC sub committee member, under Academics portfolio. I assisted with appeals for academically excluded students and I represented them in readmission meetings. I assisted with day to day running of the academic office such as replying to emails and implementing various academic projects.
