He started his career in the manufacturing sector as trainee production manager where he solidified his interest in working with people. Zolani managed different factories until he was appointed in a team of managers responsible for opening new automotive factories around Gauteng. His experience in the manufacturing sector also ignited his passion in finding solutions that are focused on customer service and leading people. The exposure has shaped his ability to work efficiently and think creatively. When Zolani received an opportunity to extend his skills in the Construction & Mining sector, he took it with both hands. At Hilti SA, an International power tool company, as Tool Service Centre Manager reporting to Service Operations manager META (Middle east, Turkey & Africa) region. He’s focus was to provide professional services to drive productivity, quality, reliability, fleet equipment, tool repairs, engineering consultancy, training, testing and logistics. Within a year in the position, when the demand arises to expand to African countries, he was responsible to expand and ensure service centers are having all necessary resources and inventory for operational excellence. Moving forward to grow his skills and knowledge in the construction & energy sector, he joined Eskom Holdings at Kusile power station as fabrication quality inspector responsible for all necessary stages in the production of the steel structure from the examination of raw material to final product, preservation and packing to dispatch to site. Manage external/internal suppliers to ensure product quality before delivery according to APQP/Customer requirements, solve supplier quality issues and ensured the effective implementation of corresponding quality control measures. Identify and evaluate potential risks and problems of supplier quality, track and urge the completion of corresponding recertification and constant improvement as well enhance the supplier's product quality and process capability. Coordinate Parts and Process approval submission according to milestones and release it accurately in the System. Working with different teams and various clients throughout various projects enhancing interpersonal skills.
