Zesuliwe Mkhize has more than 20 years’ experience at senior management level, providing strategic leadership in the Non-Government (NGO) and Government sectors. Her experience ranges from establishing an NGO (People’s Dialogue on Land & Shelter)’s provincial office in KwaZulu Natal (KZN) to being the head of Human Settlements Deputy Director General (DDG) in the Limpopo provincial government. During her executive tenure in the department, she was further assigned as accounting officer (acting Head of Department) for the Department of Co-operative Governance Traditional Affairs and Human Settlements. All responsibilities were executed with distinction largely due to her sound co-operate governance strategies and effective program management capabilities. Zesuliwe, a keen researcher is a published author on land and services, research which was funded by Kwa-Zulu Natal provincial government. Prior to that project, she was part of the Local Agenda 21 team, which developed the state of the environment report for the city of eThekwini. This track record sets her apart as the most experienced leader in the Built environment sector and as a Human Settlement Development specialist.
