2004, New York Creative Global Meeting, Entrusted with the task of representing the company I was working for - (Lovelife) in a Global Creative meeting in New York. I presented a paper called “Assimilation of HIV/AIDS content in the broadcast media for young people”. This was the first ever global creative meeting, which was held at the United Nations headquarters. This meeting was convened as part of the global media AIDS initiative launched that year by Secretary-General Kofi Annan. It was co-organized by MTV International, Viacom and the Kaiser Family Foundation with support of the Joint UNAIDS and United Nations Department of Information. The program was structured to allow attendees to share experiences, build skills, and network to build regional working alliances to continue collaborations after the meeting. Participated in 1 of only 3 panels that were set out. 2004, LoveLife FM, Led a production team that set up two pilot radio stations in Cape Town KwaLanga and KZN, Mandeni. LoveLife FM - a radio station for young South Africans between the ages of 12 and 17, reaching audience through resonant programs, youth involvement and tangible elements – was a month-long project for Cape Town in June and KZN, Mandeni in July. The team I led was responsible for assembling a fully functional radio station from the infantile stages of license application to design and conceptualization of programming content. As an overall Project Manager, my responsibilities included: On-air management of programmes, Scheduling and management of radio presenters, Developing of programme policy as well as on-air etiquette, Conceptualization, Research scripting, Creative execution, The transformation of technical and intellectual subject matter into an attractive easily understood format. African Broadcasters Media Partnership, Member of the creative team of the African Broadcasters’ Media Partnership [An unprecedented coalition of major African commercial and public broadcasters] – dealt with assimilation of HIV/AIDS content in broadcast media 2007, BBC, Spent 6 months at the BBC for a learning experience programme. Hosted by the team of the ARCHERS - the longest running radio soap ever. Received an opportunity of observing and shadowing one of their news teams on Channel 4.
