As a Grade R class teacher :

• Create an inviting, fun and accepting environment where every child is valued and respected and accepted.
• Ensure a disciplined class through firm boundaries and mutual respect.
• Continuously monitor, track, and analyse my learners' progress to identify support or strategies needed.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents to update them on their children’s academic, social and emotional progress.
• Create lesson plans in accordance with the CAPS document, ensuring that all areas are covered.

As the Head of Grade R:

• Ensure seamless operations of Grade R classes through effective leadership.
• Lead weekly meetings and ensuring of implementation of curriculum across Grade R classes.
• Collaborate with multiple staff members of Clarendon Park to enhance the transition to Grade 1.
• Serve as a dedicated member of the school's Governing Body for strategic decision-making and budget allocations.
• Facilitate practical teaching experiences for all student teachers.
• Participated in diverse DOE training and professional development courses focusing on Early Childhood Development

I took a planned career break (2011 - 2015) to raise our three children. During this period I helped my husband at his manufacturing business with basic Exel and Pastel financial tasks.
