Overview: Manage and coordinates all supply chain activities related to Cummins engines, generators and all associated accessories in the Southern Africa regional organization.

• Promote the design, development, and implementation of warehouse and logistics solutions
• Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs house brokers, and related third-party logistical service providers
• Improve warehouse and transport operations through the use of lean methodology and use relevant data to improve productivity, quality and customer service standards
• Reduce product obsolescence through inventory reviews and re-balancing efforts
• Implement strategies to improve service quality, employee efficiency, equipment performance and interdepartmental communication.
• Create and maintain safety work instructions and standard operating procedures

Overview: Oversee overall operations and responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department.

• Organize and manage the warehouse team’s performance and workload in order to ensure on-time, error free deliveries.
• Act as contact person for other departments to respond to questions or escalate issues if needed.
• Analyze data and logistics problems to monitor performance and plan improvements.
• Drive improvement by applying the Lean distribution and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Generate key performance indicators and communicate in daily operations meeting
• Ensure that root-cause analysis is done when recurring issues and find solution using Lean, Six Sigma or other techniques.
• Work cross functionally with other departments to improve business processes and results.
• Design innovative strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs

Overview: Manage production plan and warehouse floor operations

• Planning and maintaining the warehouse layout
• Managing and executing production and primary distribution plan
• Conduct team meetings: review performance of previous day, benchmark performance against KPIs, address issues and jointly find best solutions to problems
• Planning staff levels taking cognizance of planned sales volumes and service levels across the year, including peak and off-peak periods
• Managing and communicating change: Change initiatives communicated to the team and implemented, through encouragement, improved productivity
