Educational Philosophy

Mathematics, at its core, aims to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I believe that a critical role for the educator is to facilitate the acquisition of the skills by modelling the engagement and persistence expected of the learners. It is pertinent for me, as the educator, to create an environment where teaching and learning can take place. I always strive to make the classroom a safe place free from distractions. Another important consideration in my teaching career has been to cater for diversity among my learners in terms of learning styles, pace, and other factors. Every learner deserves respect and support to achieve their full potential.
