I am currently studying a bachelor of science at UCT, however I spent the last two years working in both the outdoor and hospitality industry. I have experience working as a snowboard instructor and quad bike tour guide in scotland where I learnt how to deal with a variety of customers in a more stressful environment. I also have bartending experience from my time in Scotland and during my time volunteering at a hostel in Poland. I was taught to pour a number of drinks/shots and the old Scottish locals made sure I could pour a solid pint. I have also worked in coffee shops as a barista and at hostels as a receptionist and pub crawl leader. From moving around and starting all these new jobs I believe I am a quick learner and quite adaptable. Spending this time working in the hospitality industry has also taught me how to deal with customers in a friendly and respectable manner even when the environment could get stressful or difficult. I also have no issues working in a team and I'm always open to new advice and guidance.
I took customers on lessons before they went on the main jet ski tour. I briefed them on the basic controls as well as general safety in the water. I also safely transported customers from the beach, through the breaking waves into calm open waters and back. I had to work independently and responsibly to maintain the customer safety and satisfaction.
