Hands-on Training: Participating in on-the-job training in different departments, such as engineering, logistics, operations, and maintenance, to gain practical experience.

Learning and Development: Attending workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance technical skills, safety protocols, and industry knowledge.

Technical Skills Development: Gaining proficiency in using tools, equipment, and software relevant to their field of training, such as CAD software for engineering trainees or logistics management systems for operations trainees.

Compliance and Safety: Learning and adhering to Transnet's safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.

Performance Evaluation: Receiving feedback and evaluations from facilitators to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.

Networking: Building professional relationships with colleagues, mentors, and industry experts to create a support network for future career development.

Documentation and Reporting: Keeping detailed records of training activities, projects undertaken, and progress made. This might also include preparing presentations or reports on their learning experiences and outcomes.

The overall goal of the in-service trainee programme at the Transnet Academy is to equip trainees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to succeed in their respective fields within Transnet.
