• Followed safe work practices, which included fall protection and personal protective equipment.
• Fabricated pipe sections and components to specification using cutting, threading and welding equipment.
• Installed new systems and connected piping to existing components by welding, bolting and threading.
• Fabricated piping pieces and components in line with design specifications for each system.
• Read and interpreted blueprints, diagrams and other technical drawings to determine best installation methods.
• Planned pipe system layout, installation and repair according to specifications.
• Appropriately fitted pipes by identifying dimensions, sizes, and shapes needed to replace faulty pipes.

• Communicate job expectations and performance requirements to welders
• Liaison with QC Department, project managers and other stakeholders to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, welding symbols and WPSs
• Planning of activities before commencement of welding:

- Verify fit ups and welder accessibility

- Determine optimal fabrication/ welding sequence

- Verify availability of correct welding consumables as per WPS (gas, welding electrodes, etc),

- Verify availability of correct equipment (preheat equipment, hotboxes, purge monitors, digital thermometers, etc)

- Verify welding equipment power source and duty cycle

- Verify welder qualification records - assign suitable welders for the job

- Tracking of welder’s performance

• Provide root cause analysis and execute corrective action plans when required
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce production, safety, and quality systems, policies, and procedures
• Ensure that all welding meets the specified requirements before inspection is initiated
• Liaise with welding inspectors to ensure that all welding inspection tasks are performed
• Ensure that parent material and consumables meet WPS requirements
• Act as a technical resource when required
• Maintain records, inspection results, and performance documentation
• Participate in project progress meetings

• Coded to weld various welding processes:

GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW including STT and

Double TIG in all positions as well as SAW

• Understanding of welding equipment and their power sources
• Welding of various material grades including:

Carbon steel, austenitic stainless steel, duplex and

super duplex stainless steel, aluminum and low alloy

steels including P5B and P91.

• Ability to read, understand and follow welding parameters indicated on WPS
• Welding of PQRs in accordance with various codes of construction including ASME IX, AWS D1.1 and EN ISO 15614-1
• Allocated as Training Centre facilitator to arrange testing and assessment of new welders
• Welding on offshore oil and gas projects; on risers and other sub sea equipment
• Fabrication welding of high and low pressure piping as well as structural steel
• Supervisory roles on offshore projects; planning and executing complex repair work
• Work closely with Welding Engineer to assist in welding trials to develop new techniques as well implementation of new welding equipment
• Awarded best quality welder in 2021

• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding processes such GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and SAW
• Manual tube to tube sheet welding on heat exchangers
• Welding on pressure vessels, heat exchangers, dump tanks ,cryogenic tanks, gas tanks and storage storage tanks
• Read technical drawings; understand welding symbols
