• Doing morning unlock
• Doing morning physical count of inmates.
• Taking of complaints and requests from the inmates.
• Refer and escort inmates to the relevant specialists based on their complaint or request.
• Registering of the inmate/s complaints and requests on the relevant register for future reference, follow up or feedback.
• Provide security needs on the courtyard during inmates daily exercise..
• Execute search duties in a dignified way on the inmates or their belongings whenever operational or security needs calls for that.
• Assist CMA officials when they are in the section to conduct roll-call.
• Does necessary intervention whenever inmates have a misunderstanding amongst themselves which might pose security risk to the facility's stability.
• Monitoring and provision of security during serving of breakfast or supper.
• Conduct physical count of inmates before lock up.
• Conduct cell doors mastering or testing during lock up.
• Conduct proper handing over to the night shift official before knocking off duty.
