pipelines, and pressure vessels. Holding a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and
registered through ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist, Velaphi also possesses a

He has provided technical consulting services and project leadership at some of South Africa’s
largest oil refineries and port terminals, offering expertise in asset assessment, engineering
compliance, and operational risk management. Velaphi has worked extensively across all major
South African ports, collaborating closely with port terminal operators to ensure asset reliability
and regulatory compliance.
He is proficient in engineering design and analysis software, skilled in technical report writing,
and well-versed in managing multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept to
