I am Tyla Lene Samuels born on the 19th of February 1997 in Kimberley, South Africa. I completed my schooling at Northern Cape High school where I then went to complete my teaching degree at Sol Plaatje university. I spent 4 years of learning and teaching as a student teacher where I gained practical experience in a school setting. I was mentored by the best in the field and today 3 years as a professional I would classify myself as a dedicated teacher who is resourceful and passionate with an adaptable and approachable style. I consider myself a life long learner who adapts and embraces a world that is constantly changing. This change ultimately affects how we as professionals experience our day-to-day as well as how we teach. I constantly embrace the technological era we are in as teaching and learning can expand beyond the "talk & chalk way of teaching. I have come to appreciate the more practical approach to teaching where learners are involved practically in their own learning by "doing" and not just "memorizing" the content.
My expertise includes test preparation and ongoing evaluations and assessments. I am committed to creating comfortable learning environments for learners where they feel comfortable enough to express themselves and by this, effective learning can take place. I consider myself a problem-solver with excellent time management skills which is an essential part of my profession. I am organized and efficient with maintaining student records and completing progress reports. I am young and ambitious and ready to expand and apply my expertise to a dynamic new position.
