Department of Social Development, Directorate Gender Equality and Women Empowerment, Assistant Director Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (level 10), 06/01/18 to present, Strategic Planning and Implementation, Gender Analysis and Assessment, Capacity Building and Training, Policy Advocacy and Representation, Research and Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Partnership Development, Coordinate and design, planning, implementation and monitoring of a new programme for the provision of policy support and technical assistance on gender mainstreaming to the Department of Social Development, SASSA and NDA., Engage in the planning and implementation of gender mainstreaming research, policy support and technical assistance activities and projects, including all aspects related to the management of contracted work, ensuring the highest standards and content quality., Contribute to the design and implementation of assigned statistical activities and projects, including statistical data collections, development of indicators and gender analysis, in the context of Gender Statistics Database and other gender mainstreaming projects., Contribute to the development of new methodologies, designed to improve consistency and reliability of sex disaggregated data, gender indicators and gender statistics., Run hands-on technical assistance projects, including development of targeted approaches, institutional transformation and capacity development materials, tools and trainings., Assist in mapping and monitoring stakeholders' needs in relation to gender mainstreaming policy support and technical assistance and provide expert support to stakeholders on related matters., Prepare reports, briefing notes, responses to requests and presentations on gender mainstreaming and statistics related topics, including oversight of quality of deliverables provided by external experts as well as contractors., Organize and participate in meetings, workshops and events to support the DSD's work on gender mainstreaming., Observe gender mainstreaming developments in the Department of Social Development and investigate how gender mainstreaming is integrated into the policy/programme/budgetary framework., Provide inputs towards the development policies, strategies & guideline to promote mainstreaming., Coordinate, implement and promote Gender, Disability and Youth programmes that take place in accordance with accepted quality standards., Provide inputs into the development and implementation of policies, strategies and guidelines to promote mainstreaming and empowerment of women, people with disabilities and youth., Monitor and evaluate the implementation of Gender, Disability and Youth issues., Liaise with and improve integration of internal and external stakeholders performing various activities, events, programmes and initiated projects focusing on Geyodi., Coordinate and compile Audit reports for gender responsiveness in the Department of Social Development., Coordinate the following activities/Events: Boot Camp for mothers and daughters, Facilitate the She Decides Campaign, Coordinate capacity building training on gender mainstreaming for officials from DSD National and Provincial offices, Organize International Women's Day, Coordinate DSD Men's Forum Sessions, Coordinate Disability awareness activities, Casual Event, International Day for Persons with Disabilities, Coordinate Youth Day celebration, Organize DSD Youth Camp in collaboration with other stakeholders, Coordination, planning and organizing of the Take a Child to Workday in collaboration with internal stakeholders, Represent DSD at the AU Men's Conference and contribute towards the country report thereof, Represent the Department at the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security inter-departmental task team., Country Report on UN status of Women (CSW), Report on Maputo Protocol, Report GRBPMEA, GEYODI, Report on GESF, Job Access Report, DSD Annual Report, Represent the Department of social Development at the UN Status of Women (CSW) and thereafter contribute towards the Country Report.
