Lead and oversee the portfolio of 30 multi- disciplinary infrastructure projects worth R500 million including building, civil and mechanical type projects which includes but not limited to the facilitation and alignment to business objectives, optimal project planning, implementation and consistency of delivery standards.

Strategic Objectives:

• Form part of management team that attends strategy sessions to see the business can continuously improve its objectives to meet its 10 year plan
• Provide input on departmental KPI to achieve organizational Objectives
• Review and realign policies, procedures and manuals to provide an enabling environment to achieve KPI
• Monitor progress against approved KPI

Stakeholder:

• Providing support and input into the planning / budgeting stage
• Facilitate discussions regarding projects that can be implemented between all the affected stakeholders
• Ensure strategic alignment of projects by overseeing project scope and review projects within portfolio for resource prioritization
• Build and maintain healthy stakeholder relations to support organizational goals
• One on one engagements with the airport stakeholders to providing progress on all projects in their space
• Providing support to the airport managers regarding infrastructure related projects at their monthly management meetings

People Management:

• Create a resource plan for all project in the capital plan
• Drive operational team performance through effective team management within policies and procedures to ensure achievements of standards/objectives
• Provide continuous training and awareness of the policies and procedures that govern the project management space
• Manage key performance outputs

Project Management, Risk and Finance management

• Assess and prioritize programme, financial and delivery risks
• Facilitate on mitigation actions, providing guidance to project managers on project issues and risks
• Provide advise on appropriate procurement strategy for projects within our portfolio through detailed procurement management plans
• Manage integration of project plans, within multiple project portfolios, impact on business, key dependencies and optimize resources

Operational Expenditure Budgets:

• Compile operational budget and track expenditure
• Create an overview of departments budgetary requirements-training, IT, travel, conferencing, memberships, uniforms, etc
• Monthly management of the opex budget through forecasting and managing spend against budget.

Reporting and Meetings:

• Member of the airport management meeting- reporting on Capital expenditure progress, risk and mitigations
• Member of the Divisional management meeting to report on overall Project portfolio management progress across all sites
• chair of the cluster 3 project board meetings
• Reporting into Airport fraternity meeting to provide update on Capital projects

Policies, Procedures, Standards and Manuals:

• Creating of Infrastructure Standards and Governance documents
• Reviewing and revising standard project management templates for project management reporting purposes
• Audit compliance to policies, standards and procedures for capital infrastructure projects at all airports

Risk and Finance Management :

• Input and Review of Enterprise wide budgets-Moderation of budget
• Created and applied a moderating model used at budgeting stage to provide a management number (more probable business budget) for funding purposes
• Conduct trend and cashflow analysis-Cashflow analysis of major/mega projects in the budget which considers the various challenges and opportunities that exist in business
• Drive performance on Capital infrastructure projects through Project boards and PMO Reviews
• Provided EPMO support to all projects throughout their project lifecycle
• Review and monitor project scope, program (identify key project dependencies), cost and quality performance
• Identify overall financial risk to business through risk dashboard which identified various business and operational type risks

Operational Expenditure:

• Created and monitored OPEX for the department
• Reported on Quarterly meetings

Meetings and Reporting:

• Prepare reports on Capital expenditure ( capex)performance to Group executives, Project committee, Executive committee and Board Investment committee
• Formed part of Capex committee meetings to discuss current capex report and give input to future submissions tabled for approval
• Formed part of the project reporting meetings with various stakeholders
• Formed delegation that presented two permission cycles for approval of Capex portfolio by regulator and Airline fraternity

Property Facilities office:

• Responsibility: reporting to the Accounting officer- managing consultants, internal and external stakeholders with the purpose of review current gaps within the lease management office and provide recommendations to optimize lease management and improve efficiencies.

Construction Office:

• Responsibility: Quantity surveying duties- reporting to the GM and the Accounting officer
• Preparing of Prototype Bills of quantities for libraries in Limpopo for the Department of Arts and culture
• Appointed as Chairperson of the Quality control committee with focus on resolving current gaps and reducing backlogs in closing off final accounts for infrastructure projects
• Seconded to the Department of Co-operative Governance and traditional Affairs to conduct condition assessments of completed RDP houses in and around Limpopo province before final payments were released

• Performed measurements for structural and architectural works to prepare cost estimates for projects.
• Managed and coordinated cost, availability and timely delivery of materials and project schedules for suppliers.
• Reviewed all consultant drawings and made recommendation to adjust site requirements.
• Estimated and analyzed work performed to request payment from clients.
• Generated cost and value reports to produce accurate information on cash flow.
• Conducted feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs.
• Utilized cost estimation systems to document project information, create estimates and revise project costs to reflect current data.
• Prepared estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
• Delivered comprehensive bid proposals for projects and gained client approval on costs.
