Development and implementation of Annual Performance Plan (APP)

As a Senior Accountant within Assets and Financial Reporting division, I took a lead in the process of developing and implementing APP for my team and, ultimately, the municipality as whole. Prior to developing and implementing APP for the team I would:

· Discuss my divisional APP with HR and upper managers

· Discuss with my team about the development and implementation of APP

· Set goal and objectives based on the vision for improvement

· Define and agree on KPIs

· Agree on ways to monitor, review, and provide feedback

· Have Human Resource (HR) assess the performance plan before its implementation

Development and implementation of Departmental strategy

As a lead accountant within Assets and Financial Reporting, I developed and implemented strategy as the process of turning the designed plan (APP) into action of reaching the desired departmental outcome. I developed and implemented the strategy as I believe that the success of every organisation rest on its capacity to implement decisions and execute key process efficiently, effectively, and consistently. To ensure that the development and implementation of my divisional strategy is a success, I usually:

· Set clear goals and define key variables

· Determine roles, responsibilities and relationships

· Execute the plan, monitor progress and performance

· Take corrective actions (adjust or revise, as necessary)

· Get closure on the project, and agreement on the output

· Conduct a retrospective or review of how the process went

Development and implementation of Annual Operational Plan

To outline the tasks each team member will have to carry out to accomplish the goal laid out in the strategic plan, I usually prepare an annualdivisional/departmental operational plan. To ensure development of accurate operational plan I development the operational plan that will provide answers to the following questions:

· Which personnel and department are responsible?

· What tasks is each team member or department responsible for?

· Where precisely will daily operations occur?

· How much should be budgeted to each department to complete these tasks?

· What are the deadlines for the completion of each task?

Design a complete, accurate and valid financial reporting

My responsibilities in this regards includes:

· Assist with preparation of timely and accurate annual financial statements

· Review of monthly financial reconciliations

· Review of general ledger for accuracy, validity and completeness of transactions.

· Organise trial balance for the preparation of Annual Financial Statements

· Reports on all financial aspect, trends and ratio anaalysis

· Design complete, accurate and valid financial forecasting

· Advise Management regarding :

o Assets quality

o Liability position

o Cash flow sufficiency, revenue/expenses issues.

o Use of Municipal resources.

o Budgets and the results of the projects.

· Lead and support teams in financial management

· Provide a support on external audits

Manage budget planning and forecasting process

My responsibilities in this regards include:

· Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts

· Assessing the risk of the material items of income and expenditure

· Ensure that the spending is in line with the budget (budget confirmation)

I enjoy cooking traditional foods and dishes that are are traditional in nature, and which have a historic precedent in a national dish, regional cuisine or local cuisine. 

After a day's walk, i see everything as having twice its usual value. Clouds come and go, the mountain remains. I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. One need a need special shoes for hiking – and a bit of a special soul as well. 

Fishing gives me the opportunity to form special bonds with family and friends. Adventures on the water bring people together in a number of ways. When you share the thrill of a first catch or the stunning scenery of a new waterway, you form bonds with your fishing buddies that can last a lifetime.

I get to enjoy the open air, sun on my face, and wind in on my hair, plus the sights and sounds of the great outdoors. I probably want to get outside when it's sunny and nice anyway, and cycling allows me to get some quality exercise and have more fun at the same time
