- Leveraged established relationships in South African insurance industry to secure and deliver multiple large consulting engagements, including the most significant project as outlined below.
- Cost Transformation of a very large composite Insurance Group - workstream leader for Finance which included typical related functions such as Governance, Audit, Legal, Company Secretarial and Tax. Identified cost and service level improvement opportunities and co-developed a plan with client executives aimed at delivering annual cost savings of more 10%.
- Cost Transformation of a top 5 South African short term insurer. Managed multiple workstream leaders to work with the client executives to identify cost savings and service improvement opportunities. The final plan targeted total organisational savings of between 10 and 15% annually.
- Finance Transformation of a large Short Term insurer. The group had significant challenges including poorly performing Finance and Actuarial functions, and excessively complex financial reporting process that periodically delivered Group results late and often with material errors. Managed multiple workstream leaders who co-developed with the client a Finance Transformation plan that was then implemented over the following 18 months. The end result achieved when benchmarked against other short term insurers on a range of applicable key success measures showed best in class results in virtually all applicable measures.
- Led Programme Assurance for large IT transformation programme at major insurance group, overseeing independent assessment reports for executives, committees, and the Board. Evaluated programme's capacity to meet timelines, budget, and specifications throughout multiple delivery phases over 6 years.

- A large composite insurer outsourced the service delivery of their Internal Audit effort for all South African operations to EY. My role as the delivery engagement partner was based full-time at the client. Our team size fluctuated between 30 and 60 people from multiple disciplines and we delivered an Internal Audit plan of approximately 100 000 hours annually. Managed all aspects typically associated with the head of an Internal Audit leader, including managerial and Audit Committee reporting, full management of the function, and liaising with external auditors, regulators, and other combined assurance service providers such as Risk and Forensics.
