Tina Obo

As a writer and narrator, I search for stories that remind us of what it means to be human. I believe stories live within people, in their emotions, their laughter, their pain, and their dreams. I travel across the African continent to meet these people, to listen, to connect. The stories I write are shaped by my own journey and by the lives I encounter along the way. Through animation and gaming, I want to create experiences that move us, that help us see ourselves in one another. Storytelling, to me, is more than art; it is therapy, reflection, and a path to healing.

• Writer and Director for 2019 student film, 'The Sugarcane Man'. This powerful story has won a number of international awards. It was nominated for a BAFTA, Top 3.

• Writer and Director for personal story. 'Children of the Nile' based on a comic book developed when studying animation. Had the opportunity to participate in the road to annecy 2021.
• Had the amazing opportunity to participate in the THU Talent League 2024. 'The Children of the Nile' Documentary. Was mentored by Jinko Gotoh, Kris Pearn, Haz Dulull and Gilles Gaillard.

I find humanity both beautiful and terrifying, we are our own muses, each carrying stories waiting to be told. I'm drawn to people who aren't afraid to explore the unknown, to search deeply for meaning and inspiration. Collaboration excites me; I want to work alongside other creatives who share a passion for crafting powerful narratives that move hearts and open minds. Through storytelling, whether in animation, gaming, or writing, I aim to pull people in, to let them walk beside the characters, feel their growth, and ultimately discover something true about themselves.
