In this role, I am primarily responsible for the majority of drafting in ongoing matters. In addition to drafting, I am also responsible for client interactions and interactions with advocates.

As a senior associate, I am also partially responsible, in conjunction with my directors, for the ongoing development of candidate attorneys and associates in the team I work in.

As relates to court attendances, my responsibilities include ensuring that all deadlines are met and all documents required to be filed before the hearing have been correctly drafted and timeously served and filed.

In addition to all of the above, I have taken on the responsibility of ensuring that the team I work with remains up to date with the latest developments in the areas of the law that we specialise in.

As an Associate, I was primarily responsible for the majority of the administrative attendances in ongoing matters. Additionally, and where appropriate, I was tasked with preparing the first drafts of legal documents such as letters of demand (in litigation) and transaction documents (in commercial practice).

Attended to numerous pro bono matters for clients who displayed financial need. These matters included, inter alia, contested divorces and evictions.

• Established effective internal communications systems to improve student engagement.
• Assisted in the development of support programmes for students who were sent home during the COVID-19 pandemic
• Represented students and their interests in meetings with the faculty regarding steps to be taken to save the academic programme during the initial phases of lockdown in 2020
