Duties Responsibilities

  • Inspecting chair lift and winder daily, weekly and monthly
  • Comply with all PPE requirement as prescribed
  • Ensure compliance with organization safety, health, environment & quality standards procedure
  • Ensure optimal moving of large and heavy objects
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chains slings, gin poles, gallows frames and another equipment.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Fabricate, set up and repair rigging, supporting structure, hoists and pulling gear using hand and power tools.
  • Able to do rope capping, front ends and back ends as per standards req.
  • Rope installation and maintenance for both chair lifts and winders
  • Slinging and transport of heavy materials through the shaft
  • Apply the necessary quality assurance methods and procedures, according to the quality management system, specifications and legislation
  • Splicing of chair lift rope different diameters
  • Cut front ends every 6 months for test piece
  • Cut back end every 6 months in order to move cross over.
  • Inspection of koepie winder ropes
  • Changing of koepie attachments both head and tail ropes
  • Greasing of koepe ropes
  • Installing skeletons for replacing pipes on the shaft
  • Replacing of cages and skips at the shaft
  • Rigging in and out inspection baskets for shaft examination
  • Operate CLD when replacing attachments of ropes

Inspection and control

  • Inspect all lifting tools, lifting equipment, instruments prior to use and on monthly basis and put tags
  • Inspect all vehicles, machines, mechanical and equipment to identity defects
  • Report defects immediately to the foreman
  • Carry out inspection according to a specific schedule to repair identified defects
  • Receive, complete and return job cards on daily basis, weekly and monthly
  • Inspection of overhead cranes every months and file certificate
  • Inspection of anchor points monthly

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

  • Adhere to all healthy and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on ongoing basis
  • Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations rectify/report to superior
  • Comply with safety health environment and community (SHE) technical requirement
  • Wear applicable personal Protection Equipment at all times
