- I overlook the overall responsibilities of the bench, and the quality management of the laboratory
- I am part of the quality system team at work, we conduct the audits, and we update the standard operation systems of the laboratory
- I am a Fire Warden- I overlook the safety of laboratory
- I take responsibility in updating the fire equipment of the laboratory
- I conduct fire drills and I work with Health and Safety representatives to ensure the overall safety of the laboratory is maintained
- I have conducted training in the EID/HIV PCR department, CMV Viral load, Respiratory Viral Panel and COVID-19 testing, to both employees and students

- Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure compliance with health and safety rules and regulation at all times
- Record temperature readings and equipment maintenance in according with the relevant SOPs ensuring documents are accessible and retrievable
- Perform preventative equipment maintenance as per set schedule
- Perform tests in accordance with the relevant SOPs
- Receive samples and determine if sample is acceptable to proceed with further analysis
- Understanding procedures on handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and laboratory wastes
- Understanding quality control and practical application according to relevant SOPs
- Understanding ethical rules regarding to results and confidentiality
- Perform molecular virology PCR Testing including HIV Viral Loads, HIV PCR, and Covid- 19 testing
- Assist in laboratory accreditation requirements by SANAS including preparation and standard maintenance for accreditation
- Perform data checks as per SOP
- Verify tests results
- Perform general housekeeping of laboratories

- Roche Cobas AmpliPrep and Taqman- PCR analysis of HIV samples for babies younger than 18 months
- Roche Cobas and 8800- preparation, processing and analysis of patient results on HIV Viral Loads and CoV2
