He started his career in 1995 as an Environmental Metallurgist and later as an Environmental Engineer at Foskor Limited both in Limpopo and Richards Bay. In 1999, he started working on the multi-billion rand Coega Industrial Development Zone Project, with Executive roles in Sustainability and Operations. He then moved to the consulting business of the Coega Development Corporation as a Programme Director providing various Implementing Agent Services for both the Department of Public Works and the Department of Health. He is a highly efficient Executive with more than 22 years of experience in a vast array of areas. Themba has managed multiple stakeholders at senior level in Government, Political level as well as in private sector. He has demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary project team at various levels, namely programme management, portfolio management as well as at the programme director. He is proficient in a wide range of areas of expertise namely Business Strategy, Strategic Planning and Development, Project and Programme Management, Risk Management, Financial Management, Corporate Governance, Business Management, Organisational Development, Customer Relations, Investment Promotion, Contract Negotiations, Business Processes, Internal Controls, Analytics, Operations Management. Themba has been instrumental and an integral part of developing and managing the Coega Development Corporation (CDC). He established the Operations Division which is a largest division within the CDC. He has led various multi-disciplinary teams with a number of Engineering discipline and technical processes particularly in the built environment.
