• Turn press statements, press briefings and interviews into news packages
• Write intros and Voice overs for anchors
• Ensure scripts are factually correct
• Update news stories as and when there are developments

The Big Debate - The Big Debate South Africa is a South African television debate series with a focus on pertinent contemporary political topics to South Africa. It is conducted in a "town hall debate" style

Role:

• Produce a 3-minutes long inserts reflecting on the topic being debated
• Research topic and find suitable guests to be featured in inserts
• Shooting Vox Pops with camera crew
• Conduct on-camera interview with guests featured on inserts
• Plan shoots and send out call sheets to crew
• Liaise with Series Producer and Production Manager on shoots and provide updates on interviews
• Coordinate with Video Editor on structure of the insert
• Write a script for Voice Over

Daily Thetha -Daily Thetha is an educational TV talk show that empowers the youth through engaging dialogue.

Role:

• Brainstorm and develop engaging content
• Assist Research team with finding relevant and suitable guests and case studies
• Craft plan on the running order of the show
• Write script for inserts
• Coordinate with video editors on structure of the insert
• Brief guests and audience members on the topic before live recording
• Write questions for pre-recorded interviews for inserts and Vox pops
• Brief Presenter on the topic, angle and objectives of the show
• Compile script for an hour long talk show including writing links and questions
• Brief Production crew on the running order of the show
• Direct Presenter during live show or pre-record

eNCA is a 24-hour television news broadcaster focusing on South African and African stories. The broadcaster made history when it launched on 1 June 2008, becoming South Africa's first 24-hour news service.

Role:

• Brain storm topics for interviews
• Generate news content by cutting soundbytes from studio guests, press briefings, court hearings or trials and interviews conducted by reporters during live crossings
• Turn press statements, press briefings and interviews into news packages

Africa Tonight -Africa Tonight is a 30-minutes news bulletin that focuses on stories from the African Continent. The show features the top stories of the day, providing in-depth analysis on the biggest stories from the African continent.

Role:

• Source news stories from the wires, re-write and package stories to suit the Channel's style
• Research, set up guests and manage guest flow for the bulletin
• Provide anchor with background information and research on the guests and topic
• Research and provide anchor with relevant talking points for the discussion
• Coordinate with Video Editor on structure of the news packages and ensure scrips are probably voiced and properly packaged
• Write news headlines and compile running order of the show
• Ensure smooth running of the show

I Am South African - I am South African is a talk show that celebrates ordinary South Africans doing extra ordinary things. The show profiles some of the country’s most celebrated personalities and is a build up to the annual, ANN7 South African of the year awards.

Role:

• Research and brain storm engaging content to be discussed on the show
• Co-ordinate with guest relations team
• Research and compile script for the Presenter
• Provide Presenter with background information, research and questions to be discussed
• Write inserts to give background on the topic and the guests
• Ensure the inserts are voiced and edited accordingly
• Brief Presenter, guest relations and Director on the running order of the show

SA Decides -SA Decides gives ordinary people across South Africa a platform to share stories on their daily challenges and/or stories about developments in their communities. Reporters are deployed in all nine provinces of South Africa to document people's daily lived experiences as a build up to the 2014 national elections. The show features a panel of analysts to discuss various issues such as service delivery, development issues and the economy.

Role:

• Edit inserts and interviews recorded by reporters on the ground
• Coordinate with video editors
• Communicate and brief reporters on the topic of the day
• Transcribe interviews

The South African Broadcasting Corporation is a public broadcaster, with a mandate to inform, educate and entertain the public of South Africa.

Role:

• Attend press briefings, events and compile scripts for TV and Radio
• Organise and conduct interviews
• Research stories and assist reporters with compiling news stories
• Work very closely with a camera operator
• Communicate with news editors and provide update while on location
• Provide live updates for SABC radio whenever needed
