To develop, coordinate and supervise the Centre’s security and intelligence collection plan, analyze all security related information in order to provide the Directorate of the Prison with timely intelligence and to support the SACM’s and DCS Intelligence Organization Collection Plan. The position is also responsible for overseeing the telephone system, visits desk, ECC and intelligence systems and plans. Prepare and present Intelligence Reports and Intelligence Summary Reports in a timely manner. Develop and coordinate the collection and collation of all intelligence and security related information. Use computer technology to record all information as is deemed necessary and provide for safe storage and confidentiality of sensitive information. Gather and present, in a concise form, all relevant information which will assist management to determine, plan for and resolve major security issues. Assist in the training of staff in routine security and emergency procedures including the design and delivery of training programs. I am responsible for auditing all items of security to ensure that they are maintained in a fully operational mode. Conduct security checks and issue identification cards to all persons requesting access to the Centre on a permanent or non-permanent basis. Liaise with the Managers, Security/Intelligence, DCS as well as external security agencies on behalf of the Deputy Prison Director and Prison Director. Provide report, investigation and internal inquiries for company requirements supporting contractual obligation, parliamentary and government request as directed. Implement, administer, and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures. Organize and direct escorting of high risk offenders to and from courts and other Maximum Prisons. I am a Liaison Officer in Emergency situations. This position is also responsible to monitor and oversee Investigation officers of the Centre.
The Grievance office is responsible in dealing with offenders’ legal matters and transfers. To contribute in the assessment of deviances in offender’s grievances and requests handling as well as identification and implementation of their training needs. To ensure that offenders’ disciplinary hearings are in accordance with stipulated procedures. To liaise on behalf of offenders with external agencies and government departments (Courts, Private attorneys, legal aid, judicial inspectorate of correctional services, Human Rights Commission) on legal matters. To compile and capture report 14 and also monitor DRCP reports. To receive and update amended warrants of offenders.
