I am an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 4 years post qualification experience. I am ambitious, focused and outcomes driven. I strive to provide my clients with the best resolution to their matters, and pride myself on fostering professional and long-lasting relationships with my clients. I have a wide range of expertise various sectors, including the financial sector, the mining sector, and the alternative energy sector to name a few.
In March 2024, I was promoted to the position of senior associate within the Insolvency and Business Rescue practice group. In this position, I was responsible for co-ordinating general commercial litigation, including arbitrations, in various sectors, including but not limited to the financial sector, alternative energy sector, and the mining sector.
I was retained as an associate in the Insolvency and Business Rescue Practice Group in March 2022. During this time, I attended to a number of liquidations, sequestrations, enquries and creditors meetings. Most of our client consisted of both public banks as well as mutual banks.
I was also involved in a number of review applications relating to the awarding of mining rights and prospecting rights in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act 28 of 2002, and the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act 3 of 2009.
Notably, I was involved in a historical settlement between one such client and its auditors, who had failed to note any irregularities which, had they been raised, would have prevented serious loss to the bank through rampant theft and fraud.
Between January 2020 and February 2022, I worked as a candidate attorney at Werksmans Attorney in the Business Crimes and Investigations team (litigation) and the Mergers and Acquisitions team (commercial).
During my litigation rotation (January 2020 to February 2021), I was involved in a number of forensic investigations and high-profile litigation matters, including investigations into state-owned entities and mutual banks, as well as litigation surrounding those entities as well. This included working with forensic accountants, forensic IT specialists, private investigators, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (Hawks),
and the South African Police Service.
During my commercial rotation (February 2021 to February 2022), I was involved in a number of multi-million Rand lending transactions, many of which over R100 million. I was also involved in a number of multi-jurisdictional deals for both local and international clients.
I’m hard-working and willing and able to learn anything and everything I am trained in Microsoft Office, very organised, and have excellent writing and editing skills
I am a skilled legal researcher and writer, with a strong background in commercial law and forensic investigations
