Responsibilitiesorduties

  • Initiate, plan, execute, control and close the work(s) of a team(s) to achieve specific goal(s) and meet specific success criteria or requirements of a particular project(s).
  • Review and negotiate contracts with clients, contractors and suppliers.
  • Assess contract risks: Identify and assess potential risks associated with the contract.
  • Develop contract strategies: Develop strategies for managing contracts and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, including contract documents, correspondence, and payments.
  • Provide contract advice to project teams, including guidance on contract interpretation, compliance, and risk management.
  • Drafting of Project Plan(s) and Budgets.
  • Establish project schedule(s) for tracking of the works (Works Program).
  • Ensuring best value is obtained for the project including supplier base, use of internal and external resources.
  • Bill of Quantities preparation and pricing.
  • Writing detailed and summarized project reports.
  • Identifying costing and processing any contract variations.
  • Tracking activities against the detailed project plans.
  • Updating project plans to include agreed changes.
  • Producing accurate financial reports.
  • Monitoring actual expenditure figures against project budget.

  • Prepare cash flow projections before inception of project(s) and ensure that it is adhered to.

  • Interpreting blueprints (Drawings) for GB, EB, ME and CE works.
  • Sub-Contractors- Appointing, managing and supervising, measuring work done (monthly interim valuation and payment certificates), signing of contracts, heading meetings and final accounts.
  • SMME Construction Mentor - Compile Tender Documents, Invite SMMEs, Adjudicate, evaluate during Tender Stage, provide guidance, manage, contract management, measure all works done by SMMEs, draft SMMEs templates, and monitor all works.
  • Final Accounts drafting, negotiating and approvals.
  • Sound knowledge of construction claims legislation and contracts (GCC and JBCC) and an appreciation of FIDIC and NEC contracts.
  • Ensuring that extension of time claims is submitted within the stipulated time frames and approved (with/ without cost).
  • Cost breakdowns (rate buildup) for non-scheduled works ensuring that they are in line with the contract used.
  • I have sound experience as a contracts manager and quantity surveyor in General Buildings (GB), Electrical Works (EB), Mechanical Works (ME), Civil Works (CE) and Structural works.
  • Computer literate, with high level of competence in the use of the Microsoft office suite of tools, including Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/word and Microsoft Projects.
  • Have sound knowledge of Build-smart and an appreciation of CCS Candy.
