Stephen Nyaki is an experienced economist with a double degree PhD in agricultural economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and a PhD in Science in human geography and natural resource management from Copenhagen University. He currently works as a Postdoctoral research fellow at the University of the Free State, South Africa, also as a research associate with Dilligent Consultants ltd in Tanzania. He also worked as a head of research and planning, and as a working partner at Mais Professionals’ Consultants (MPC). He additionally worked as a part-time lecturer at the College of Business Education (CBE), Dodoma Campus, and at the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP). He is an agricultural economist, researcher, business analyst with experience in economics (agriculture and applied economics) and human geography with specialization in policy, quantitative and qualitative research methods, econometrics, project planning and management, population studies, monitoring and evaluation, value chain, rural-urban linkages, migration, and risk analysis. He has working experience with local and international institutions and projects like iAGRI under USAID in collaboration with SUA and Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives; the East Africa Agricultural Productivity Program (EAAPP); DANIDA funded Rural-Urban Transformation projects; and as an impact analysis consultant for International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Tanzania. He is also an expert qualitative and quantitative research methods and can well employ various tools of data processing and analysis like Kobo Toolbox, STATA, SPSS, and NVIVO.
