I am currently a second-year Master's student majoring in Medical Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town. As I near the completion of my degree, I envision a career path that utilizes innovative translational science to advance the healthcare industry in a patient-centric manner. My thesis investigates the combined use of a newly developed molecularly targeted drug with standard-of-care chemotherapies for the treatment of gynecological cancers. Throughout my postgraduate studies, I have developed strong laboratory skills in mammalian cell culture and fundamental biochemical techniques, including various cell viability assays, Western Blotting, and Flow Cytometry. I thrive in the lab environment, where my meticulous attention to detail and determined problem-solving abilities have honed my technical proficiency. I am eager to continue working in a laboratory setting and further develop my skills through an internship or research assistant position. While I am open to broadening my scope beyond biochemistry and cancer research, my primary interest lies in the immunotherapy field, which holds tremendous potential for improving cancer patient outcomes.
