I am currently employed as a Librarian at North-West University. I was employed as a Manager : Inter-Library Loans at Tshwane University of Technology and confident that my exposure and knowledge will be an asset to your company. Previous member of the Sabinet Advisory Board representing Tshwane University of Technology on Resource-Sharing sub-committee and previous member of the LIASA Interlending Executive Committee (PRO and additional member : No. 2926)
I was also working as an Acting NWU Branch Music Librarian responsible for planning and overseeing the daily operations of the Music Library processes. Supporting research, teaching and learning activities of the library by conducting thorough literature searches, sourcing information materials and attending to reference inquiries. Whilst at the NWU Music Branch Library, I assisted the catalogers with the reclassification project of the Music Library collection and cataloged library donations (OCLC WorldShare). I have the knowledge and experience in the application of international cataloguing and descriptive metadata standards. I have an in-depth knowledge of cataloguing and classification sources such as RDA, AACR2, MARC21, LCSH coding rules DDC classification scheme and OCLC World-Share platfrom.
As an Inter-Library Loans Librarian @ the North-West University, the NWU Inter-Library Loans team was awarded the OCLC Express Library Outstanding Digital Delivery Badge in recognition of our achievements for maintaining the status during the latest review of turn-around times. My experience has taught me that to achieve success, teamwork is the correct way to go. I believe that strong relationships with the departments and sections in the organisation take not just the company but the entire workgroup towards success. I can also achieve targets by working independently too. I am passionate about my work and getting it done is most important to me.
