Creating media marketing
My work experience started off in 1996 , moving to Pongola which is in northern Natal and working for the then Volkas Bank. I entered the banking environment working as a consultant and the enquiries desk. All training and courses were done within the branch , banking system.
I then moved onto the Traffic/Licensing department of Pongola which serviced also the surrounding area going up to the the border between Sa and Swaziland. The department also provide fire and emergency services. Here I worked as a licensing clerk ( drivers and motor vehicles licences ) , moving up to a supervisory level training and overseeing the new candidates. I was also appointed acting head of department during a transition period in the department.
Moving to a new town I sought employment at the bank again as I could not take a transfer from one municipality to another . I took up the position as a teller and worked as a business teller within a few months. I worked as an atm custodian during the weekends and a year later got a transfer to a Durban branch. There I got to work as business /bulk and forex teller and assisted in the treasury department when short staffed .
I left South Africa in 2007 to join my husband in Nigeria where I joined an NGO called Small World run by the International Women Organization for Charity. I was chosen to head the team for the entertainment committee which produced the yearly stage show. This also meant dealing with sponsors and attending meetings with companies to generate funding. Presenting to many different countries on roadshows the concepts of that year’s theme. Conducting stage rehearsals and liaising with stage production teams .
After 16 years , I have returned to South Africa permanently and have taken up employment at Wakefields Property agency . I’ve only been with the company for two and half month and already have been recognized as agent of the month.
Im a hard worker and a fast learner . As much as I enjoy being at Wakefields, my job is commission based. I work well with others and just as well by myself. I pride myself in being professional at all times.
Coordinating referrals
I left South Africa in 2007 to join my husband in Lagos Nigeria where I joined an NGO as a volunteer . I soon became part of the committee as an Entertainment co- ordinator. My duties included creating a detailed concept for an onstage performance that would be performed by the different country’s communities within Lagos . I managed all the admin, presenting of budgets for approvals, sponsors and sponsorships. I enhanced our marketing department by providing them with a media platform on the day of the event . I also worked hand in hand with production companies for the event and lead a team of volunteers.
In every position I’ve worked in , I’ve shown exceptional commitment and communication skills that I’ve trained new employees.
