1. When appointment as a Senior Administration Officer at Department of Health (NCOH), I was pleased to find myself at the helm of starting and institution a Corporate Services Management unit. Transforming the existing one, thereby formalising it, implement Acts, Regulations, Policies and procedures of the first Democratic Government of South Africa.
2. Progressing to the National Prosecution Authority, I was faced with similar environment. Here it was a clear mandate that I have to institute a Corporate Services unit, appointing professionals in relation to various functions of Corporate Services, Including Human Resources Officers, Finance officers, professionalize the existing Record Management unit and beef it up with relevant skilled personnel, same with the Librarian services.
3. At Victor Khanye Local Municipality, I was confronted with and have to adopt staff that has been in the employment for a very long time, I'm talking pre- democracy and resistance to change was the order of the day. The department I was heading didn't comply with most, if not all Regulations and laws promulgated in the Democratic era. I had to be stern and courageous in developing policies and procedures which are relevant to the Acts as promulgated. Had to train and develop the staff, Management and Counselors about these laws, policies and procedures, while, I had to learn how issues of Council and Comitees functions.
