
A very passionate chef who started working as a chef in 2014 who enjoys the Art and science of cooking. Really loves to work under pressure. Born and bread in a rural area of Eastern Cape with a grandmother who loved growing her own cabbages and having her own chickens and other live stock . Later came to Johhanesburg for high school to stay with my parents . And the passion for food only started later in life when I started cooking for my siblings who enjoyed my food more than anyone's and I never looked back.
Before the preparation of Vodacom Durban July I was allocated to By word of mouth catering to assist the pastry chef who was working alone and we managed to prepare the function. Straight after that I was moved from Inanda Club to the main catering company which is my current job. My duties together with the head Chef who is also in charge of pastry are making sure that all the functions we have are put in our file according to their dates and then we start production prior to the events for function chefs to execute. From every dessert item to all the garnishes in the menu. If the company has alot of events I also do function cheffing.
During my retrenchment period fortunately I was called back because the was a opening in a new position in one of By Word Of Mouths private restaurant ( Inanda Club ) located in Sandton. And I worked in every department of the restaurant , making all the desserts for functions and a la cart, Running different shifts .
After the traineeship programme duration was over I was employed as a junior pastry chef because as a trainee I was trained and my passion was pastry at the time. I worked in that position under an amazing team learning and taking inspiration from them until 2020 when covid striked and the company retrenched 90% of their team and unfortunately was one of those people let go right at the end .
Started working for this amazing company as a trainee ,doing a traineeship programme , as a trainee I was going whatever direction the company wanted me to whether it's function cheffing or production in different departments .
Currently enrolled in a National certificate in Marketing Management course part time through SKILLS ACADEMY it's an online course I will complete in August. ( my student number : 277277 )
Unfortunately I coul not complete this course because of financial reasons.
