Silumko Giyose

Silumko is always keen to learn more about his surroundings and the well being of animals within the Informal Settlement.  He has one dog and takes good care of the dog along with helping others in the area when their animals are ill or they need assistance from a Volunteer to take to a Vet.    He has learnt the importance of being observant and aware of the needs of the animals  i.e. making sure the dogs have water bowls filled with fresh water especially on hot days.   Distribution of donated food is one of his tasks when required.   I have noticed that his 2 sons have already learnt by example so often see them filling up water bowls for the dogs.

He is proud of his home and fenced in property.  It is clean and tidy.  Fencing is in order.  His dog has a kennel and a carpet around his kennel to stop the sand from going inside.  

I have noticed that he is keen on Soccer and enjoys watching the children play on the designated area near his house.

I contacted his last Employer Attie, who owns ADLEM TRANSPORT and he only has praise for Silumko.   He still uses Silumko when they are in need of a driver.   He commented that out of all his drivers only Silumko never gave him any trouble, never came to work late and did not drink.
