•Control workplace activities and verify their compliance, at a minimum, with the legal and other mandatory requirements.
• Coordinate the workplace inspection program, undertake regular internal SHEQ inspections/audits of the system, and/or associated processes, procedures, and work practices.
• Develop a corrective action plan based on the SHEQ inspection/audit findings.
•Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of the SHEQ induction and training programs.
•Assist in the identification, assessment, and development of control mechanisms for hazards in the workplace.
• Coordinate and ensure pre-task risk assessments are conducted.
• Provide support and advice to the SHEQ Committees.
• Conduct and/or assist in the investigation (depending on the incident severity) and reporting of incidents.
•Assist in the integration of SHEQ into the work systems.
•Ensure that the relevant SHEQ files and registers are maintained, and evaluate and assess operating/working methods and techniques, making sure they are available for inspection at all times.
•Ensure SHEQ information is systematically disseminated to all personnel.
• Coordinate the collection, recording, and analysis of SHEQ data.
• Maintain the currency of information on legislation, Codes of Practice, and industry-relevant standards.
•Ensure that all new employees are inducted prior to their starting work.
•Issue employees with the relevant personal protective equipment, and ensure that this equipment is in good working order at all times. Keep a record of PPE issued.
•Ensure all Epiroc employees attend all designated SHEQ meetings, i.e., Toolbox talks, and monthly SHEQ meetings.
•Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained in the area of responsibility.
• Enforce good waste management practices, i.e., storage and disposal.
•Coordinate and ensure legal testing of lifting appliances, and maintain an up-to-date register of lifting appliances.
•Coordinate and ensure the calibration of measuring instruments, and maintain an up-to-date register of instruments.
•Ensure all legal appointments are up to date.
